The Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA) is the leading organisation for the advancement and unity of the global osteopathic profession. As an “organisation of organisations,” the OIA unifies osteopathic medicine by connecting schools, regulatory bodies, and regional, national, and multi-country groups. The OIA launched in June 2003, when 34 individuals representing ten countries and 17 organisations traveled to Chicago, Illinois, USA, to attend the First Invitational Conference to Organize an International Osteopathic Association. Affirming the importance of uniting the osteopathic profession worldwide, the attendees incorporated as the OIA in the United States in December 2004. We extend a warm Australian welcome to all OIA members who will be making the trip down under for the 2024 Osteopathy Conference.
Osteopaths New Zealand was formed as a professional association in March 2013 with the aim of providing a unified voice for the Osteopathic profession in New Zealand. They are the peak body representing the interests of osteopaths, as well as promoting and increasing awareness of osteopathy. Osteopathy Australia is proud to continue their strong and close collaboration with Osteopaths New Zealand and this year's conference continues our tradition of alternating hosting rights between our two great countries.
